About the instructor
A working drummer who happens to love teaching.
The studio is built around twenty-plus years of stage time, session work, and one stubborn belief: musicians don’t need more content — they need real direction.

Educator
A teacher first by personality, by training second. Conservatory-educated, with a decade of clinic experience at universities and music camps across the country. The studio caps at 60 active students so every lesson stays surgical, never generic.
Performer
Active touring drummer and session player. Credits across jazz, indie, soul, and singer-songwriter projects — including 14 international tours and 80+ albums. Currently holds a weekly residency at a downtown jazz club.
Touring & session
Sessions for film, TV, video games, and ad work; touring with everyone from singer-songwriters to large jazz ensembles. The teaching draws directly from what tours and sessions actually demand.
Musical philosophy
The drum kit is a melodic instrument. Time, taste, and dynamics matter more than chops. We chase the song first and the trick second.
Teaching philosophy
Honest feedback, deliberate practice, and a clear arc. Students leave each lesson knowing exactly what to practice and why. The goal is independence — to make you your own best teacher.
